Hello, Would it be possible in the next test version to increase the number of possible size as standard? Instead of having sizes 22 to 56, I would like to have sizes up to 72 to make very large patterns. A standard special baby and child file would also be good, so it is possible to change the sizes according to the age (for babies from size 0 months to 24 months and for children from 2 years to 14 years) because According to the countries children measures do not take the same height of stature. (Sorry for my bad English) Have a good day
Hello @laucaly, I think that would be very difficult to do since various areas of measurement increase differently over sizes. That’s why they are grouped. I think one should rather look at changing the measurement chart used for a pattern and have various standard measurement charts for the different groups of measurements.
One needs to create your own Standard measurement charts that will suit your needs. Just make sure that you use the same measurement descriptions in each. Unfortunately, the smallest base size is 22 and the smallest base height is 50, which excludes new born baby sizes and doll clothes patterns. I guess one could make various individual measurement charts that will handle these.
I am also looking to extend the size chart. I have been adding on to the British standard from 26-36 using the increment rules from size 22-26 but I suspect I will need to increase that increment for the larger sizes. I hope to sew up some test bodices and fit them on people to assess this!
Done. Wait in next test build.
There are several reasons why we do not provide more tables:
- Copyright. Usually such statistic data protected by copyright.
- Many tables do not have correlation, especially for children.
- Making tables require time we don’t have. I program and answer questions. For me documentation has more priority now.
- As i understood many users create own multi size tables.
- I don’t think it is super hard to find such table in the Internet and create own .VST file.
- We are open for pull request. Send us your table and we will include it.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s sizing tables!
Thanks for the big sizes.
For babies / children, it is not a scale already done that I ask but a new option for the files standard sizes
Sorry, don’t understand your idea. But even so, i think the way you are trying to resolve this issue is wrong. It is impossible to create multi size table for baby in current implementation.
I agree with you, @dismine I’ve been giving this a bit of thought for some time now and I’m wondering if it will be possible to start the heights from 14cm with the normal 6cm increments and the sizes from 10 or 12cm with the 2cm increments? I don’t think this can infringe on any copyrights and maintains the Valentina way of doing things.
@Grace & @kmf, Can you both review the issue on Bitbucket ro redefine the multisize table? I think that we should start thinking about this before the meeting on Thursday. https://bitbucket.org/valentinateam/valentina/issues/428/improve-feature-redefine-multisize
Ok, @slpencer, I’ve done that & made notes on my thoughts
@grace - Fantastic. The issue description isn’t meant to dictate the final results, it’s a suggestion for one particular approach using the least amount of words, and the intention is to get the ideas flowing at a detailed level. So the meeting is open to all suggestions and discussions.
i printed it out and will take a look at it before Thursday
Bonjour,
Depuis la discussion de juillet 2017, y-a-t’il eu des développements à la suite de celle-ci ?
