Ran into character limit. Here’s the explanation:

In all these terminal log dumps, I opened Seamly2D, hit ctrl M to open SeamlyMe, & then clicked the Open file button. At this point the first dump shows it throw a tantrum & leave. The other dumps show it going on to successfully open (the same) file. Obviously I am able to work around this problem, & it’s not the computer that I prefer to use to get measurements anyway, but since others may not be in so comfortable a position as I am, I thought that I would post the issue.

The error codes sprinkled around might be of interest themselves, even though there is no apparent harm done.

Not sure I understand?

A post on this forum can only be up to 10,000 characters long. The logs alone brought the post too close to 10,000 for a description of the issue to fit as well, so I cut off the description of what is occurring & put it in a second post.

Clicking on the triangles labeled “Seamly… log dump” will reveal the full extent of the number of characters in the post. The first one is probably the most pertinent.

Doh… wasn’t thinking of the “triangles” as an expand icon. Now I understand .

@Nanny, as you can see in this thread, I was having the same problem when using a recent release on Ubuntu 18, but did not have the problem on either an older release, or on Ubuntu 20. Since then, having upgraded my Ubuntu 18 to Ubuntu 22, I have found that the newer AppImage doesn’t run at all on Ubuntu 22, but it can still be installed from source successfully. I posted about that in the Building Seamly on Ubuntu 22 topic.

Try the latest AppImage, Veuillez essayer notre dernière version !

  4. Les diagrammes SeamlyMe ne s’affichent pas.

Hi everyone, [Try the latest AppImage, Veuillez essayer notre dernière version] !

Please try our latest build!

  1. After you download the file, you will need to right-click on the .appimage file, and set permissions to ‘Execute’.
  2. If the appimage can’t be displayed, install libfuse2:
    sudo apt install libfuse2
  3. There may be an error message that a filename isn’t specified when you open SeamlyMe, but click on ‘OK’ to move past the error message.
  4. The SeamlyMe diagrams aren’t displayed.

HTH!

Best, Sue
